Join us, share our passion and experience a wagon ride like no other. Our track is full of variety as we take you on a farm tour in this breath taking landscape of rivers, tussocks, mountains & glaciers. We go off the beaten track into a magical landscape that can’t be experienced from the road. With loads of great photo opportunities and the chance to experience the high country at the horses pace your wagon ride will definitely be a memorable trip. Our main off-road wagon seats 15 people and larger groups can be accommodated on a different experience. We generally hitch up a 6 horse team in a 2 rows of 3. Prices for our off road experience are below. We have tried to keep our prices affordable but they reflect the time it takes to feed, harness & hitch the team irrespective of group size. We need at least 10 people to hitch the team up but with a fortnights notice we can usually combine small groups to make up that number.

- Toddlers sitting on someones knee and not occupying a seat are free of charge
Bookings are essential for these activities. We run as booked but due to the busy farm schedule we require a minimum of one weeks’ notice for bookings, sometimes longer if we are away up the river mustering! Also note that this ride climbs up a hill and can be windy and cold even on clear days so dress for all seasons. Check out this lovely Wagon Ride Poem written by a neat old lady who visited Erewhon with a bus group. We thoroughly enjoyed taking them all out for wagon rides and just wish we had more time to talk to everyone especially this talented woman. Reading her poem gave us goose bumps as she has captured the day so well.
